Moving madness {part two}

The madness continues!  I have been packing like crazy! Here's what I have so far:

{please excuse the poor lighting}

I just wasn't sure what a good place to stash packed boxes....so in the dining room they went. Who needs to eat right? and remember my "Tuesday" list. I regret to inform you that it isn't complete yet.
but I am making progress.

The colored x's are way better than regular x's.

The other thing I have been working on is my "apartment notebook"
I just used a composition book and covered it in scrapbook paper and coated it with mod podge. After the mod podge was dry, I covered it with a clear acrylic sealer. Easy peasy.

On the inside I popped in a quick pocket to store receipts for things I have purchased for the move or the new apartment.

Not much in there so far...

Then on the first page is the key for my color coded labels. Nothing too complicated.

Then on the following pages are the box contents. Each room gets a page. Then I just have the contents of each box listed by number. All the boxes have a number or some sort of identifier.

And another pocket on the back cover :

I know its nothing fancy, but I'm hoping that it will help make the moving and unpacking process go more smoothly. Especially since my family {who are all super excited to help me move} won't have to ask where each box should go since they are all nicely labeled. And the contents will help me know which boxes to unpack first.

I'm hoping to be packed and ready before moving day so I can spend my last days searching pinterest for wonderful ideas for the new apartment.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Also, I will post the different options for moving labels that I made sometime. They are on another computer {because doesn't everyone have three different computers?} and its not very easily accessible right now.

Moving madness

Let the madness begin! I move into a new apartment on August first! Yay right? Except that packing and moving again makes me just a bit nauseous. So I am going to try to be organized this time. So I got my game face on, and of course headed to pinterest and a few blogs. The two things I found most often? Lists and Lables {doesn't get any better than that}
So I got right to work, first I made some cute colorful labels thinking that I had 2 x4 labels. But alas, I did not. And the closest store is 25 minutes and I could not justify driving that far just for labels, but I did think about it for a second.
Round two: I made some address label sized labels and left space for writing the contents. Also not happening. I write way too big for that.
So, third time around I went super simple and made these:

And then I started my list:
and I labeled it Tuesday, hahaha like I would actually get it all done today. But hey I can dream right?

And since I was in the list making mood, I started an "apartment"  shopping list too. One side for household items and the other for groceries we would need right away

I have a few boxes packed so far. And I realized I might have an addiction? 10 bottles of Method Cleaners---seems a bit excessive?? But in my defense I did stock up when I could double coupon on sale. How can you say no to that?

It's gonna be a great week!! Even better if I get my list finished! Anyone else moving or have moved recently? I'd love some tips if you have any!

blog planner

Niki and I have been looking for a blog planner for a while now. We struggled because we write the blog together but we live a little over an hour apart. But we are both a little old school, and like to actually write things down. (this also explains our obsession with planners) So my sister found this blog planner from confessions of a home schooler, so now we each have one of these cuties.

We had considered making one, but being new to this blogging thing, we weren't sure where to start. Then we found this planner that Erica had made, and it was cute and even better it was free. So printed them out and I popped mine in a binder similar to the one I am using for my home management binder.

Here's a peak inside...

I also keep stats from our etsy store in my blog binder

I keep weekly/monthly stats...

and customer orders...

Anyone else have blog planners or planning methods they want to share?? leave a comment!

And don't forget about our JULY ETSY SALE! 20% off your entire order through the end of July! Use the coupon code JULYSALE at the checkout.

etsy store reorganization

Today's organization is a not a normal fifteen minutes of organizing. Today I am reorganizing our etsy store. I had a revelation the other day, my home management binder documents do not match, and that is a problem! In fact I'm not sure how I got along this long with the un-matching-ness. So now I am revamping the etsy store and offering some new and some redone documents to make a home management binder set (yay!)
The set is 19 documents, all personalized to your family. Hooray!
The set includes:
automobile log

babysitter notes

bill payment log

password log

chore chart

cleaning checklist

contacts

kids' schedule

monthly budget

daily agenda

home maintenance

household information

important dates

blank monthly calendar

monthly menu planner

petsitter notes

grocery list

to do list

week at a glance

19 gloriously matched documents

I am also working on creating some other "sets" to offer in the etsy store. I'm thinking:
grocery and menu planning
finances
cleaning and organizing
for the teacher
and maybe more...we'll see how creative I get.
Check them out in our etsy store!
