No Repeat February {week four}

Here we are in the final week of our challenge! We made it!! Wahoo!!
We made it a whole month without repeating an outfit!
We expanded our wardrobes without doing any shopping! ((outside of our own closets that is))
And we did our best to be brave and not look frumptastic (yeah, that's a real word- go with it)
If you played along, how did you do?

Here's a recap of our final week...

Monday
pants: Maurices, last summer
tank: Buckle
long sleeve shirt: Target, not too long ago
sweater: Old Navy, Christmas
shoes: Buckle, they are super old
I had planned on wearing a teal sparkly scarf too....and it hit me as I was walking out the door of my apartment building. But I was not going to go turn off my car to get my keys and go back inside for a scarf. too lazy.

Pants: Maurices (They are 2 sizes to big and I had them rolled at the waist)
#mightbetimeforsmallerpants

Shirt: Old Navy
Tank: The Buckle
Jeans: American Eagle, hand me down from Shannon
Shoes: Wal-Mart
Scarf: Shannon's.... I don't get to keep it, so its not actually a hand-me-down

So what are we planning for March??
Mix It Up March.
We are going to do our best to take some of our favorite outfits and change them up. Ya know, those old standby's that you can just grab out of the closet and go because you already know exactly how its going to look. We want to spice ours up a bit.

And of course, our Friday Five. And a link up with Lauren, at from my grey desk.

                                                             Photobucket

1. We made it through the entire month of February without repeating an outfit! We are a little bit proud of ourselves. It was a lot of fun to go shopping in our own closets and bust out some forgotten fashion.

2. Niki got to sub as a teacher this week, woo-hoo for a little extra cash for the week!

3. Faith, Niki's daughter, had her dance team performance this week and did amazing!!

4. Shannon made chicken spaghetti in the crockpot last night, yep that's right I actually made a recipe that I found on pinterest. I of course omitted the fungus (most people refer to them as mushrooms) and it was delish!

5. It was nice to have a week of "normalcy" after being all over the place for the past two weeks!! A few days in Waterloo (the otherside of the state from my house) and a weekend in Sioux Falls. And I have a hot date with a few baskets of clean laundry tonight.

Have a great weekend everyone!

No Repeat February {week 3}

So here we are at end of week three, and we are happy to report that we really aren't struggling too much yet! Just takes us a little time to plan things out. I (Shannon) get a little bit stressed out if I don't have my clothes picked out before I go to bed and have to pick something out in the morning but that has only happened twice so far.

Monday:
No school for me, Shannon, today so I was working away at Menards. I guess I could have posted a super cute picture of my Menards fleece and boots for you :)

Pants: Nicole Miller from Sam's Club
Shirt: Kohl's before school
Cardigan: Wal-Mart
Shoes: Wal-Mart, a very long time ago
I could not find my go to black flats, so I went with these cute heels. They were comfy and I had forgotten how much I like wearing heels.

Tuesday:

khakis: Maurcies, Christmas gift
sweater: old as dirt, but I think from Target
tshirt: Target, on sale on Monday for $7!
shoes: Maurices, last summer

Pants: Kohls, I think?
Sweater: Old Navy - Shannon got it for me for Christmas. I was nervous about horizontal stripes, but I think they are ok because the sweater is a little loose?
Shoes: American Eagle from Payless - They are super comfy wedges. I love them.

Wednesday
khakis: Maurices, a few years ago?
yeah, I know, khakis two days in a row. but in my defense they are two very different colors and fabrics. plus I stayed at the bf's momma's house and only wanted to bring the shoes that I was already wearing, so I had to do brown again.
sweater: Target, sometime back in college
shirt: Maurices, last summer I think
shoes: Maurices, same as yesterday

Ok. I stayed home with 3 sick kids today. So no judgment. Mmmkay?
Pants: Soffee, from Kohls,
Shirt: Kohls
Tank: Buckle
Let's be honest, I am not running around my house like that with sick kids, hoodie it is!
Hoodie: Scheels
Socks: John Deere, from my mommy for Christmas.

Thursday:
this is like a no name outfit, no idea where anything came from
pants: Studio Y, no idea what store that comes from? they are old though.
tank: Buckle
long sleeve t: Old Navy
sweater: basic editions, again no idea where it came from but I know it was cheap!
shoes: old as dirt, Charlotte Russe

Swimming day!
Sweats: Aeropostale (no judgment, remember?)
Long Sleeve: Wal-Mart
T-Shirt: Morningside Bookstore (This is where I graduated from with my teaching degree)
Shoes: Hand me downs from Shannon

Friday:

{Photo to come, Shannon is getting her tire fixed}
Jeans: American Eagle
T-Shirt: School Store
Hoodie: Victoria Secret
Boots: Payless
Jeans: Nine West from Sam's Club
Tank: Long and Lean from The Buckle
(They are worth the $14, I swear)
Shirt: Old Navy
Cardigan: Calvin Klein from Sam's Club
This is my favorite sweater. It is about 3 sizes to big, but I will wear it forever.
Shoes: Way knocked off from Wal-Mart
They are super comfy, almost like slippers. With the kids in and out of the snow, I need shoes or I will have wet socks, blech.

And here is our Friday five.
We're linking up with Lauren at from my grey desk again :)

1. This baby arrived at my door! I was so excited to get a new purse. Haven't bought one in almost a year. And that's a big deal for those who actually know me. I'm a big fan of recycling old purses but when I saw this baby I knew I had to have it! I'm gonna keep it clean too! Maybe a "I'm gonna keep this baby clean if it kills me" post?

2. My family (Niki) is healthy again! I was home Wednesday with 3 sickos. Everyone is feeling much better and back to school now. Woot for Clorox wipes!

3. I (Niki) went through the babies clothes and got a whole garbage bag full to give to our nephew, who is just a few months younger than Jayce, but a peanut. I am getting a start on spring cleaning.

4. Shannon and I are participating in Young House Love's Pintrest Challenge. Head over to their blog to check it out. We will let you know what we plan on doing next week.

5. It's a snow day! Shannon, Niki and all 3 kids have a snow day! I (Niki) and catching up on housework and some organizing projects and the kids are playing outside. Sadly, my husband had to work, but not before scooping our sidewalk!

No Repeat February {week two}

Here I am again! I can't believe Shannon left me in charge of the blog! Hence the fact that it is 1:30 and I am just sitting down to write the blog! ACK! So, here goes our weekly outfits!
Edit: So, clearly this is what Shannon does the blogging. The pictures are completely unedited, nothing has been pinned, there is no logo, I missed a picture this week and all this has taken me over an hour. Hopefully when she comes back, she will spruce it up. My apologies in the mean time.
Update: I'm back from my long weekend vaca, that wasn't really much of a vacation. Glad the blog survived my absence and I will make a few additions but I think it was pretty good to start with :)

Don't forget you can follow along on our pinterest board to see our actual outfits and our inspiration.
{follow us here}

We would love for you to link up with us! A day, all week, two days, an instagram photo. Anything at all!

Friday 5

1. Tried out a scuff cover on my Vera Wang boots, they are at least 3 years old and now these babies look good as new again!

2.  I got this gel nail polish at Walmart for a couple bucks, so far so good.  Polish has stayed on all week. Much cheaper than shellac.

3. Niki's kids both got awesome reports at conferences this week!

4. I got to babysit these little pumpkins last weekend- who could resist that face?

5. I got to help Faith, Niki's daughter, make her valentine's box for school. So much fun!

BONUS!
Shannon saw this purse while perusing her Pintrest fashion boards and clicked on it. The link took her to amazon.com, of all places, and she had to have it! It has been ordered and will arrive shortly. The fashion gods were really looking down on her this week! Lucky girl!

                                                                 Photobucket
1. Kicked butt in the gym yesterday. Busted out 4 miles, I have to give credit to kids being mega frustrating this week. But good for me in the end.

2. We have a legit follower and we are soooo excited!! We appreciate each and every one of our readers and we are so loving being bloggers! It's be so much fun for us and has inspired a lot of great projects in our homes.

3. My apartment has gotten some serious attention this week with no part time jobs after school this week. Whoop whoop! It really needed the cleaning and getting things back in order.

4. Niki did a little butt kicking of her own with a new plank record!! We are trying our best to stick to this getting fit and healthy business! It's great to be able to do it together and encourage and motivate each other. Virtually that is, we don't get to actually work out together.

5. Niki passed her driving test after having an invalid license and is now a legally licensed driver again. Although its probably best if we just get a permanent chauffeur. Not sure who is volunteering to pay the salary though.

If you participated with us, link up your blog post, pinboard, or whatever you've got. We'd love to see!
Our first link up! Whoop Whoop!! We're super excited and hope you will link up with us, whether it's a day or a week- we don't mind!
